When I first started this blog I talked about sharing updates and calling it, "Are you smellin' what I'm cookin'?" Well, I didn't quite keep my promise on that (sorry)!! I may have shared some updates, but not with the official title and frequency I was hoping for. In the future, I'll do my best to share updates as they come, and on a more frequent basis, like every 3 months. Don't forget you can also follow me on Instagram and Twitter for visual updates and weekly blogposts. You can find my social media links on my homepage.
In the meantime, I just finished some wall hangings that are currently in the shop. Definitely feel like I'm hitting a stride with my style and creative routine. These latest wall hangings are an example of what I'll be making in the future. The more I make the more excited I get about upcoming designs. That leads me to my next update related to style and wall hangings. In addition to what I'm currently creating I'll also be incorporating block printing. I've mentioned this briefly in a blogpost before. It's just another means of creating design via handmade prints. The next round of wall hangings will also display this particular style and technique...yay, can't wait to share!!! Below is a photo of some old block prints that I carved. If you look closely, one may just look familiar, hmmm....
Aside from my Society 6 shop I'll also be adding prints to my website sometime soon. I've always loved to draw so it seems natural to add print illustrations to my line of work. Over the past several months I have been exploring different areas of interest, and again, I have all sorts of ideas up my sleeves! However, my sleeves are starting to get full and I need to unload some of those ideas. Hoping to have prints on the website by the end of Summer or early Fall. Eeekkk!
Thanks for letting me share, and I appreciate your patience as I blindly (but passionately) make my way, one foot in front of the other. Glad I have an outlet to share my journey!!
PS - If you didn't read last weeks post check it out...it's a good one! If anything, watch the first video or both!! There's such an important message being shared in each talk.
Thoughts for next week: Spring To-Do's...
Have a great weekend - J
