Honoring our Creativity

Definition of Creative:

  • originality of thought, expression and imagination
  • having the ability to make new things or think of new things

I want to reshare a few reasons for writing this blog series, as it has a deep connection with all of us. As you can see from the definition above, the roots of creativity span far and wide. Yet, as a society this definition often gets shortened. There are so many limiting beliefs and lack of support around creativity. This has left many people unaware or uncertain of their own creative abilities. Sadly, most people only associate creativity with artists or people of that nature. WE ALL have creative gifts waiting to be expressed. Encouraging ourselves and supporting others to explore their creativity is my biggest hope from this series!! Originality, Expression, and Imagination are essential to living our fullest potential. We are only depriving ourselves and our communities when we don't Honor Our Creativity.

I believe this passionately: that we don’t grow into creativity, we grow out of it. Or rather, we get educated out of it.
